The Remote Projects Adventure Swag is suitable for those keen to rough it by the fire, pack up and head on to their next destination and was born out of a desire to make a minimalist swag suitable for bikers and bushcraft enthusiasts.
We found that most modern swags are too large when rolled to allow for bushcraft, kayak and bike missions.
What started out as a lockdown project in the garage and being tested down at the back creek in a 40-acre reserve has now been refined and tested up in Arnhem Land.
The tapered, coffin-style design allows for the swag to be rolled up to a small enough size that can be strapped to your bike or rucksack.
Our no-nonsense design is a cross between a traditional Aussie swag and a bivy and does not include all the luxuries of a modern-day swag/one-man tent (mattress, bug nets, poles, windows etc.) - (there are plenty of brands out there already doing this).
Throw in an air mattress, wool blanket, sleeping bag, yoga mat or bedding and you're good to go.
The Adventure Swag is made from premium Australian-made canvas in our workshop here in the Northern Rivers and is available in limited numbers

Great swag, already can tell after one trip that the materials and zips are going to last a lifetime. Looks cool as anything. Really warm and surprisingly comfortable. Only downside is that there is no big net which isn’t a big deal, but where I was camping there were thousands of sand flies that killed me. U can just chuck the lid over your face to solve this but when it gets a bit hot or when the Milky Way is in perfect view this is not an option and you just have to tough the bugs. Swag is also much smaller than I expected. The Scotty’s gone walkabouts picture makes it look big because of all the gear he’s got rolled in it but rolled with a ground sheet and sleeping bag and she’s nice and compact. Ultimately this would be my swag of choice in a zombie apocalypse. If you’re on the fence about getting this swag you’re probably better of just getting a cheap military bivvy, it’ll do the same job and is definitely lighter. But if you’ve got money to burn and want to support Australian small business as well as just look like a true blue Aussie battler from the 40s definitely buy this swag.

Hi Luke, thanks for the in depth review, all fair points which we agree with - really appreciate the honest feedback. The bug net is a tricky one, we have been tossing up how to incorporate this without moving away from our design and concept - if you have any ideas shoot them through! Our intention is for a simple swag, that can be carried on a bike or hike, and to keep the bugs away with a fire, but this isn't always the case, especially around here in the northern rivers with mozzies and sandfly's. One idea is to sell it with a bug net included. The other is to integrate it somehow with a gusset. It will still be the zombie swag but with a mesh window, but at least you will be able to hunker down and still have some airflow or a view to see the zombies or yowies coming!
